Elegance personified, romantic couples photo shoot at Trocadero | Paris engagement photographer
Trocadero on a Saturday morning
The weather is September, in early September at least, is usually really lovely in Paris. Mild temperatures and sunshine, with occasional rain can be expected. But, as it’s September, many of the tourist crowds who visit Paris have gone back to work and school. That said, Paris is still one of the most visited cities in the world with more than 30 million visitors a year, so there never is a slow period.
It’s always then, quite challenging, to photograph at the Eiffel Tower. Not only are you competing for space with tourists, but there are a lot of photo shoots going on as well.
I had the good fortune to photograph an extremely elegant couple. Mark and Cherlyn live in the Bay Area of the United States, and both are attorneys. They’d been to Paris many times, but wanted to have a photo shoot to commemorate their anniversary. What a great idea!
On this day, there was a special event for cyclists being staged on the bottom level of Trocadero, so I had to get creative and photograph these beautiful people in different spots around Trocadero.
Fall is around the corner
I’m not a big fan of autumn, only because I know that after autumn comes winter, my least favorite season. That said, I do love colorful leaves! The chestnut trees are now turning in Paris, and they’ve left a nice pile of leaves near the carousel. Naturally, I had Mark and Cheryln pose in front of the leaves, and had they not been dressed so elegantly, I’d have had them toss some leaves in the air too. However, I didn’t want them to get dirty!
We had the benefit of the beautiful sunshine too, and the light on the leaves with the carousel was quite magical.
I so admire couples like Mark and Cheryln. They’re so in love and clearly enjoy each other’s company. Sometimes men don’t care too much for having their photo taken, but Mark was a great sport, and Cheryln, well look at her—her smile was absolutely gorgeous and honestly lit up the entire sky. A real beauty inside and out.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to meet this dynamic couple and photograph them at the Eiffel Tower!
