A birthday and a honeymoon celebratory photo session at the Eiffel Tower

A Special Birthday and a Honeymoon

This was a very special visit to Paris for Tisha and Steve, visiting from the United States. Not only was it their honeymoon holiday, but also Steve’s special birthday! Tisha told me that she was really relieved to find me, an English speaking photographer in Paris. A lot of visitors to Paris, particularly from English speaking countries, like the United States, Canada, Australia and the UK worry that they won’t be able to communicate with their photographer, or won’t have the level of customer service they are used to. I was born and raised in the United States, and even obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in English, so in addition to French, I’m super happy to work with other English speakers in Paris, and give the the very best experience I can!

Tisha explained to me that it was Steve’s birthday, an important birthday, and she really wanted to celebrate with a fun photo shoot, also to celebrate their recent wedding. I was really excited to meet them, and joyful to spend time with them. They were so fun to talk to, and so kind. We had a lot in common and I enjoyed also laughing with them and comparing notes on our mutual travels and our lives in the United States.

When it's Raining, Wear Yellow

This was one sharp looking couple. I was in love with Tisha’s dress, a bright yellow with pretty accent jewelry that showed off her beauty. Steve was no slouch himself, looking so handsome in his suit, and with a beautiful smile to match. Together, they are a dynamic team and practically every shot I took of them I swooned over. Also up for anything, I noticed a yellow bicycle parked near us. These bicycles are available for rent, using an app on your phone. We decided to use it as a prop, and they are some of my favorite shots of the day. Super cute!

The summer had been super sunny and warm, but this day it was gloomy, cloudy, and slightly rainy. The clouds and fog lent a romantic flavor to our Paris photo shoot, and the rain held off for the most part, so we didn’t need to get out the umbrellas. This is another case where Tisha’s bright dress really made the images pop on such a gray day. The truth is, unfortunately, Paris is gray and rainy much of the year. It’s always a good idea to wear some color when you’re being photographed in Paris, it makes you look like a million bucks!

So Sad to Say Goodbye

When our photo session was over, I was super sad to say goodbye to Tisha and Steve. They were off to Rome to continue their holiday, and I was oozing with envy. I did of course wish them well, asking them if they needed a photographer in Rome (only half kidding) and began to edit their photographs for light and color. I was so happy with their images, feeling I was able to translate not only their outer beauty, but their inner beauty as well, in photos I hope they’ll treasure forever from their time in Paris.

Happy birthday Steve, and happy honeymoon to these lovebirds! I sure hope we have the chance to work together again!
